In 1985, Rollie Clarkson founded his first company, RC Construction, inspired by his family’s deep roots in the construction industry. Growing up in a family business, Rollie developed a passion for craftsmanship early on. By the mid-1990s, Rollie expanded RC Construction into the insurance and restoration field, acquiring a franchise known as Remodeling Contractors and Cleaning Services (RCCS). This venture quickly rose to become one of the top remodeling companies in the nation.
After years of successful growth, Rollie felt it was time for a new direction. He established an independent company, one with a clearer focus on remodeling services. Thus, Remodeling Contractors was born, standing for quality, trust, and commitment to excellence.

Founded in 2001 by Zak Fleming, Fleming Construction started with a clear mission: to create a remodeling company built on strong values. This vision developed into what Zak calls the Theory of Remodeltivity, a principle that shapes the company’s operations today, ensuring top-notch professionalism and craftsmanship in every project.
In 2018, Marc Black became a partner in Fleming Construction, bringing with him nearly 20 years of industry experience. Together, Marc and Zak focused on expanding the business by hiring like-minded professionals. They noticed many talented candidates were small business owners themselves, which led them to create a company culture that could support these skilled individuals and their expertise.

- Imagine Interior Art and Design (founded in 1999 by Donna Alley) – A firm specializing in beautiful, functional interior designs.
- TechBuilders of Iowa LLC (founded by Scott Spetman in 2014) – A company known for tech-driven remodeling solutions.
- DB Building (founded by Duane Berner in 2007) – Focused on high-quality construction and renovation work.
- JY Design (founded by Julie Youngblade in 2009) – Known for designing comfortable spaces for busy lives
- Express Handyman Services (a division of Remodeling Contractors started in 2019 ) – A skilled set of hands when you need them
- Cornerstone Cabinetry ( a Remodeling Contractors Company founded in 2021) – the Cornerstone of every home
In 2020, Remodeling Contractors merged with Fleming Construction, becoming the seventh company to join the team. This merger represents the collaborative spirit that Fleming Construction is known for and allows them to offer an even wider range of services.
