The owner of Fleming Construction LLC, Zak Fleming, was recognized by the Des Moines Youth Hockey Association along with the Gabe Fleming Memorial Hockey Scholarship Fund for efforts to grow youth hockey in Des Moines.
The Gabe Fleming Memorial Hockey Scholarship Fund is a not for profit corporation for the purpose of holding events to raise money and to award scholarships to young hockey players in the Des Moines area. Zak, who runs a successful remodeling business, founded this non-profit entity in honor of his brother Gabe with the help of friends and family. He continues to play in the DMAHA adult leagues twice a week and has helped out with coaching the Metro High School league in the past.
GFMHSF has helped 10 members of the Des Moines Youth Hockey Association last year and a total of 25 since inception that would not have been able to afford to play hockey otherwise. The total dollars for player assistance programs has exceeded $15,000 which directly helps the DMYHA by allowing more children to participate.Read More..
