The charm of century old homes comes with the challenge of adding modern conveniences while maintaining the integrity of the design. This remodel was no exception, with the goal of adding a second floor master suite to this story and a half Des Moines home. In order to access the plumbing, the first floor bath would also require a full gut renovation to make sure that both spaces worked correctly. By incorporating some period correct tile and bath fixtures along with some modern touches we were able to bridge the gap between classic and contemporary. Highlights include a rain head shower with a free standing tub, master closet system and about as much storage as you could get into this small space.
